Photography
A collection of my favourite photographs.

Photography has been a hobby of mine for many years, from landscapes to in-studio shoots. I have got to know both analogue and digital equipment well and have developed a style focusing on colour and texture within a simple composition. More recently, however, I have found I am using photography more as a tool for collecting inspiration and source materials for my design work, often using it to capture something that has given me an idea or has interested me in some way. I have particularly been drawn to the work of street photographers such as Saul Leiter and Harry Gruyaer,t and have discovered my own style of street photography that has become a passion of mine, particularly when travelling.
Sculpture
Sculptures based on the recurring use of the three elementary shapes throughout multiple art movements from the Bauhaus to the work of David Nash

As well as designing functional objects with a use or purpose, I also enjoy creating sculptures. Usually made of wood, I explore form and shape, allowing the creation process to stand out in the finished piece, as I feel this shows the journey taken to arrive at the outcome. These sculptures were created for my Applied Art & Design A-level. They were selected to be entered into the Farley Arts Trust Awards and subsequently went on to win 1st prize in the 3D design category. They were inspired by the recurring use of the 3 elementary shapes, squares, triangles, and circles, throughout many different art movements from the Bauhaus to the work of sculptors such as David Nash.
