A bit about me.
Hello, my name is Jay Powell, and I’m an award-winning designer based in Lewes, East Sussex. I currently work as a Design Project Manager at Inglis Hall—a bespoke kitchen and furniture manufacturer known for its craftsmanship and considered approach.
With a background rooted in both science and art, I thrive in creative design environments, particularly when working with complex and challenging briefs. I’m equally comfortable navigating technical detail and practical problem-solving, from early concept development through to manufacturing documentation.
My time at Inglis Hall has allowed me to refine not only my design and technical skills but also my capabilities in sales, project management, and long-term client relationships.
At my core, I love solving problems and making things—drawing inspiration from nature, science, culture, function, and a deep curiosity about how things work.
I have a thirst for knowledge and continually develop my skill set using industry-standard tools and techniques, including ideation through sketching, physical modelling, and digital design using software such as AutoCAD, Photoshop, SolidWorks, and KeyShot
